The Brandon and Evansville Lions clubs teamed up this year
to sponsor the annual Lions International Peace Poster contest for the
Brandon-Evansville sixth grade class.
Students were asked to create a poster based on the 2012 theme “Imagine
Peace.” Posters were judged based on the
originality, expression of theme, and artistic merit.
The two posters selected to go on to the Lions 5M4 District
judging were created by Sierra Olson and Christine Roers. Honorable mentions were awarded to Megan
Lauthen, Chandler Suchy, Emma Marie Nelson and Eli Anderson.
Each year, Lions clubs around the world proudly sponsor the
Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups.
This art contest for kids encourages young people worldwide to express their
visions of peace. For 25 years, more than four million children from nearly 100
countries have participated in the contest.
Posters will be on display at Evansville
School October 22 – November 2 and at
Bremer Bank in Brandon
November 5 - 9.
